Kerio Control Box and Outstanding Partner Support – A Rip and Replace StoryThe phrase “rip and replace” gets thrown around quite a bit in the tech industry. Heck, we even built a Facebook contest around it. R&R (my acronym) always conjures thoughts of pulling out an aging or sub-optimal solution that is on the verge of a literal meltdown, and putting in the newest, shiniest offering on the market that practically prints ROI dollars for the user. While R&R can represent an obvious and immediate technical upgrade, sometimes the reasons are a little more subtle. Tony Lawrence at A.P. Lawrence, a Kerio Preferred Partner in Middleboro, MA, recently blogged about his experience ripping an Astaro firewall and replacing it with Kerio Control box. The reason: the technical support for the Astaro firewall wasn’t very good, and the advice his customer received caused issues with the entire network. On the contrary, working through a Kerio Preferred Partner with a great detail of expertise using our Web administration interface led to a much smoother running (and secure) network. Tony details the R&R process, and talks about best practices for the initial configuration of VPN and Kerio Web Filter settings in this post. Check it out. -Andrew |
